Mint Julep

Postby Parrothead » Fri May 01, 2015 7:10 pm

It's Kentucky Derby weekend, so I figured this time around, I'll actually mix some mint juleps while watching the race. My wagering will be non-existent, as always. I'll pick three horses (one favourite, mid-field and longer shot) assume I have them boxed, so $12 for a $2 wager, which would cover all possibilities for those horses, if they finish 1-2-3. Once the race is run, I'll either be glad I didn't bet or be frustrated. ;)

Back to the drinks, I purchased some Woodford Reserve bourbon, will pick up some mint leaves, water, ice for crushing and powdered sugar I have. Cheers!

We've got a bunch of mint growing in one of our beds. Had family over Saturday to celebrate some birthdays. Mrs. T took her mint and made mojitos. Not my favorite drink but they were good.

Mint juleps were delicious. I can see me having some more of these. My Derby picks finished 3-4-5, good thing I didn't really bet.
