Very fun stuff indeed. I did visit the DSN headquarters back in the day in Pasadena and it was really fun- part of me wanted to work there for sure as it'd be so neat to get radio signals from so far away (the ultimate contact!). I guess ya never know. 
Yes, I have a life. It's quite different from yours.
