The Boss

Postby Thumper » Wed May 29, 2013 5:17 pm

First,
Thanks Brite and anyone else who had a hand in making this new forum. It's going to take me some time to get used to the look and feel and functions of the new place. Second, are we going to have that, ahem, other forum?
Lastly, and most importantly, I haven't had any updates on Ikyoto since FWIS 2.0 went down. If it's not to be posted in the open could someone please PM or EM me. I'd be most appreciative.

I called him several times while he was in the hospital and was relieved at how much better he sounded during my last call. I think it was right before he was going home. Then everything went quiet. I had sent him some goodies that apparently the mail room guys at the hospital stole. I know the delivery made it to the hospital and was signed for. Not really worth pursuing. I hope it was worth it to steal a sick man's cookies.

Nice to see you here, Thump.

You need to cross over to the dark side and sign up on Facebook. Iky updates have been posted frequently there.

Hey Geo, thought of you this morning when I was looking at an online auction site. One of the lots was a bunch of clamps. :P

Been on Facebook for years. Cannot figure out where I am much less how to get to or find something. I think I may have been on Trish or Paul's pages and found out some about him but no new news that I didn't have from the forum.

As for number 2: Ummm Nevermind

As for number 3: It seems I don't have access to PM's? So if I ask someone to PM me can they send me one and can I read it? If I try to compose one, it says I'm not authorized.

To start, Trish has some updates on a public site

http://www.gofundme.com/Brain-Surgery--Recovery

I'll try to comb through her other facebook updates and share with you, others are welcome to help out to fill in what I may miss.

Hi Thump! :D

Dragon man is home and rehabing, but more detail than that I don't know.

He is home, cranky, and doing OK with the rehab. The OT discharged him yesterday. He still wobbles a bit when he walks and still needs the walker, but he's getting better. His balance gets wonky, especially when he's tired. His short term memory was damaged with the surgery, but we have been working on that... it's a process. Long term memory is good. His left hand is a bit shaky, so we have been working on using that more.

He's been working on making PBJs and brewing tea... in the microwave (for the tea)... Neither Trish nor I feel comfortable lettimg have anything sharper than a table knife... LOL But he's been really doing well getting around the house.

Last week I took hm to see Star Trek. And the week before that, Sam took him to see Iron Man III. He does alright...

I've been trying to get him outside more, but the weather hasn't really been working with me... One of the many reasons why I escaped from Buffalo... It's not enough that I'm bipolar... I don't need the weather to be bipolar too.

All in all... he's doing pretty well...

But as much as I love Trish and Iky... I really can't wait to go home... I miss Fisher, SonOBrite and my Poe... oh... and the dogs, too... I miss the dogs...

Wasn't an accident. I just know clamps even if I have no personal experience with some types. ;)
