Beach to Myself

We all need to hear it... here's the place to share it...

Beach to Myself

Postby geonuc » Fri Jun 28, 2013 8:20 pm

I went to St Augustine last weekend. On the way back to Atlanta, I drove by way of Ponte Vedra, a seaside community just south of Jacksonville. Wow, there are some expensive-looking mansions there!

Anyway, it was before dawn and I stopped at a stretch of state beach where there was a parking lot, which was closed as it was too early. I parked on the side of the road and hiked over to the shore. There was one guy there, but he left right as I arrived.

So, just me, the beach, the ocean and the clouds. No one else in sight as far as I could see. It was great watching the sunrise, even if it was behind some clouds.

Nice.

I love beaches in the winter for that reason: sun, sky, sand, waves, maybe some time some ice and snow, but beautiful.

Wow, that's beautiful!!

I envy you!!

It's been ages since I've seen the ocean.

Glad you had those moments to enjoy. :)

Yeah. I'm more of a SW desert dweller, but there's something about watching the ocean.

And don't take this personally, Geonuc, but after longing to see the ocean again for years now, lack of rain here (chronically), etc...

:hammer:

There. :) I feel better.

Glad I could help. Did I mention that it rained quite a bit during my visit to St Augustine?

Yes, there is something about just looking at the ocean. Your beach is a little less crowded than my beach.
