Out this Weekend

Postby Rommie » Fri Jun 28, 2013 3:33 am

Cause my sister is getting married!

Weather is not looking like it will cooperate, but we already have a bunch of people who've shown up and we'll be driving up tomorrow to the hotel where the wedding will be (Bretton Woods, NH). Excited to meet new people, catch up with old aquaintences, and welcome my brother in law to our family. 8-)

Sis is married!

We were worried because in the hours before the outdoor ceremony there was a torrential downpour going on, but literally an hour before the ceremony the rain stopped, clouds parted, and we had hot sunshine for a half hour so I sweat in my dress (felt bad for the guys, but I guess that's nature just reminding us she was ok with stopping the rain but she was still in charge). Gorgeous wedding! And everyone has said my speech was good, though hilariously sis had forgotten some of the anecdotes- I guess the slights on younger siblings are never forgotten by the one who was on the short end of the stick. ;)

Outdoor wedding, check.
I remember being nervous for ours. Well, nervous for the weather as well... :P

Hah!

One of the oddest things about the whole affair btw in some ways is it's a wedding, yet I hardly drank a thing after the ceremony (open bar but only went there once), and never felt like drinks were lacking. Basically at the head table they kept the wine coming (and I had a white AND a red after a certain point for some reason) and we had such a good band that we literally danced for hours, so drinking never came up... and in fact we were so busy dancing that I never had time to give my present and sign the guestbook until the morning after (I figure there were all sorts of details my sister obsessed over but I never noticed).

So the best kind of party huh?

Also forgot to mention an amazing part, one of the bridesmaids ran into the lead singer in the bathroom and then arranged it so my sister was called up to sing the last song, "Don't Stop Believing." She nailed it like a rock star.
