End of my rope

Had a crappy day? Think your only friend is the dog? Got fired? Someone piss in your Wheaties? Just need to blow off some steam and rant? Here's the place to do it. No judgement, maybe some sympathy, possibly some advice... but definitely a safe place to go off on the world.

End of my rope

If you go out and recruit, train, and motivate children. Then send them out to go blow themselves up along with other children, I really don't see any reason whatsoever for you to be on this planet.

I would feel no guilt over ending "people" like that. It makes me want to throw up. :(

Makes the Roman Empire solution seem like a reasonable course of action for the middle east.

Yeah. Tons of Europeans seriously worried because many, many parents along with their kids moved to ISIS controlled territory when they were on the rise and now are re-infiltrating Europe. You actually get arrested in the Netherlands if they can prove you were there, and they've caught several teenagers sneaking back.

What they end up doing to those teens is keep them in juvie but also schedule them regular meetings with imams to hopefully get it through these kids' skulls that what they learned is a perversion of Islam. I mean, what else can you do? But it's scary because no way they can catch everyone.
Yes, I have a life. It's quite different from yours.

It's a dilemma. One thing that seems to help is assimilation into the host country culture. Things like employment, education, and having moderate religious leaders who preach peace, love, and tolerance for infidels all make a difference.

The problem with assimilation is that many people see it as an attempt by the host culture to destroy the culture of the immigrants. So, they keep creating enclaves where they are sheltered from being assimilated. Sometimes the host culture actually encourages this in a negative sort of way. As long as they don't feel like the country, culture, people they live in/with is theirs and one that they feel affinity with it will be easier to radicalize them.

If you give people hope that tomorrow will be a better day you will drastically reduce the incidence of radicalization.

But, truthfully I think we have a better chance if we were to round up every radical Imam we could find and permanently detain them.

Not a good idea. You see, the plan is to keep them all together and then drop a nice H-Bomb from orbit. The fallout would be harder to contain in Siberia :P

Apparently, I was having an off day. Thanks for clearing that up for me! I'm still catching up on all the "secular" music I missed out on as a Christian.
