The Kid's school put on a TEDx event last Saturday night. She was on the planning committee, was one of the presenter coaches, and one of the technical directors. The TED company had hired a film crew in for video archiving of the presentations. They were from Ohio State's semi autonomous WOSU, a public broadcasting station. She told me during intermission that she was sitting with the "head WOSU guy" at the control table. She said "he's so cool." She needed a thumb drive from him which contained the opening video intro. She noticed that also on the drive were archived versions of some of our favorite WOSU programs. She said, "They're all on there, he's the main producer and editor of "Columbus Neighborhoods."
She didn't come home that night, she went out and celebrated with the crew then spent the night at a friend's. We met up with her the next day at a superbowl party. She pulled out the guy's business card. She said, "You remember that WOSU guy last night? He gave me his card. We were talking and he asked where I was considering college. He said, 'You're talented and obviously have an interest in this sort of thing. If you do come to OSU, look me up. I have internships at the station that might interest you.'"
My Mother-in-law said to my Mom, "Ohio State's doing everything but kissing that girl's @ss."
