The Weather Thread

The car said it was 82 on the way home yesterday, but I don't believe anything it says. I was able to mow without getting the pristinely clean mower insanely muddy, didn't get stuck, and got done before dark. Supposed to rain and thunderstorm all day today.

Apparently the city council here has the air conditioning on really cold to kill bacteria. Then the staff use heaters to keep warm. Florida is a strange place...

Sunny, breezy, with rain showers whenever I'm considering mowing. So pretty normal spring these last two weeks. Temps going down this weekend though.

We're expecting cloudy weather and a thunderstorm on Sunday. Which is typical as we planned on going to the Key's this weekend. You know, like the first time in four months we decide to go somewhere and it is going to be cloudy and a thunderstorm will cut the trip down by a day. Grrr.

Updated forecast. Thunderstorms and 3-5 inches of rain.
The radar shows the storms North of us and headed North so maybe they made a mistake?
If not, this will be nasty nasty nasty.
*edit*
Seems they made a mistake. Now it's back to 0.75 inches.

They made a mistake after the mistake and the initial prediction was correct. It bucketed down.
The lake we're on looked like a swimming pool.

It didn't rain near as much as they threatened. I'm 3-0 in not getting the mower stuck. It was chilly in Saturday. But overall a very nice weekend.

The damned heat is wrecking us. Yesterday it felt like 90F at 10am. At 5:30 we got a cool change and it went down to 89F. It actually felt really cool. Today, we don't even have a breeze of any significance. WU says it feels like 88F. Sure, in the shade it might. Not on a boat with no wind.

You may have to sail a few hundred miles north. :P

I guess it snowed in MN on the first day of May....not too uncommon. The area got a 12" snowstorm a few years back (just missing my city.)

But I wasn't there. It was 80 and sunny throughout our whole vacation in San Diego! Wow, that weather is great. No excuse not to be outside all day!

I saw, was jealous of Legoland pics! :)

Rain rain rain here... rained all last week save one day, and rained until yesterday, one nice day, now the rain's started and won't end until Saturday. Lake Ontario is already over capacity and serious flood warnings in effect.

Time to build an ark!

Yeah, why mess with an ark when you can have a boat?

More heat. Little wind. Great for solar power. Ok, sure the heat isn't but the Sun is always out.

Thunderstorms predicted for tonight and well into Saturday. My golf group has a morning tee time tomorrow (Saturday).

We're playing anyway.

I'd keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff will come down for quite a while.

Not sure how much more heat we can take.
I'm going to start investigating either making or buying an A/C just so we can sleep.
Time to pro and con the concepts and see which is more viable.

The entire next 10 days forecast is chance of thunderstorms, highs in the mid to high 80's and the low's are mid to high 70's.
This is going to be miserable on the boat.
Hot, humid and we have to close the boat up to stop getting wet, so no airflow.
And people think being on a sailboat is a romantic adventure. Sure, sometimes it is. Most of the time though, it's a total pita.
Need to get a bigger boat...

True story. A lot of people had to have their car engines replaced after Mt St Helen's blew her top. The ash that blew hundreds of miles in all directions worked it's way into the engines and really fouled things up. :o
