The Big Interview

Clogging my DVR is 30 some episodes of Dan Rather's long form interview program. He's interviewed some interesting and iconic music celebrities. Last night we decided to watch his talk with Kiss bassist Gene Simmons. We were in full expectation management mode. Simmons has given some terrible interviews always being "in character" in his vulgar male chauvinist self. But this was different. Rather was able to break the shell and give us a peek inside what made the real Gene Simmons. I don't know how he did it. But I almost liked the show. It airs on AXS TV. And there are a ton of interviews. It's hard to catch up. He's reinforced my views on some musical artists and made me rethink my position on others.
