So as a way to engage myself in something useful in my retirement, I applied for a US Census job. I'm accepted! Providing I pass a background check.

Funny thing, we already got and returned our census forms online (that was nice). They asked us at the time to say who would be living in the house on April 1. And... we are no longer living in the house as of a few weeks! I guess they don't mean "vacation" or whatever this counts as now.

Yeah, that's the job - knocking on doors. I'm now considering turning it down. Two reasons: I'm immune-compromised and over 60, and I think there's probably a whole lot of out-of-work restaurant folks around here that would appreciate the job.

For those on FWIS who have children in the 8-12 y/o range, you might want to check out Adventure Academy. It's an online portal that makes learning fun by embedding it in games, puzzles, and challenges. It also has a social media type feature so kids can interact with other kids in a safe environment. If you have heard about ABC Mouse it's created by the same people who did that portal for pre-schoolers and kindergarteners.

I would suggest if you have some spare time to study a bit about him. He probably influenced someone you like.

I do have to say I know Prine more as a writer than as a singer himself.

The first song I ever heard Bonnie Raitt sing was Angel From Montgomery. I was hooked on her and John Prine from that moment.

It's mostly in my head. I need to work on *not* always thinking that, but be ready to deal with it if it happens.

Sounds like you have a good start in dealing with it, then.

It sounds hokey but have you tried rehearsing scenarios in which you make decisions. And they are good ones. Even if you rehearse it mentally it can actually reduce your anxiety over making "bad" decisions.
