I'm pretty sure this will die in the House, and if it doesn't it will certainly die in the Senate. But even the proposal, esp. when endorsed by Dem leadership (not just the younger progressives), is rare good omen IMO.

This comes up every now and again. Maybe this time it will gain more traction. It's really a bad look for congress that they don't have as high an ethics bar as the civil service, the military, or even corporate employees. Insider trading is a great way to make money in the stock market.
