Project 2025, the genocide platform

Since it hasn't been mentioned here yet...

The big thing about the platform is the federal abortion ban, which is already fucking horrible. However there's another tidbit that's easier to miss: the document declares that transgender status is to be made a sex crime, and (on a much later page) that all sex crimes are to be capital crimes.

In other words, the Project 2025 platform involves a mandatory death sentence for anyone who is trans, or promotes "transgender ideology".

Would that actually work in practice? Hard to say... But if you want an idea of how states would respond to a death sentence for a very small minority, look at the handling of the pandemic re: disabled people, or climate change re: homeless people. I don't think they will care for the most part unless the number of deaths is enough to put their economies at risk.

Anyway, yeah, I'm hoping like hell that Trump and his cronies do not get in. And voting like my life depends on it. Because it probably does.

The thing that's also maddening about it is even in the things that we all agree are heinous sex crimes (like, child rape) you should not have the death penalty. As any advocate would tell you, it's already so hard for victims to come forward, and if you have them worried that person is going to be killed because you told that's not an idle threat to keep silent.
