New Client

Postby Loresinger » Sat Oct 05, 2013 6:02 pm

I stopped working for Demand Studios because, well no pun intended, they became TOO demanding to the point of randomly putting writers through evaluations that they must pass to get their permissions back (even if their scores for writing and research are just fine).

I was very worried about that choice as it represented a good second source of income. Sometimes standing your ground works. I went back to ODesk and started applying for jobs - I have one that's a tad hit or miss but pays fairly, and this new client ROCKS the house. She is sending me all the research materials I need (for free) paid 1/2 the fee for the first 10 pieces up front and has TONS of work for me for several months going forward. Better still - the topics are "new age" things to build a marketplace but also build a HUGE resource site. It is truly extraordinary, and she has sound business sense (she's the COO of a very profitable website already).

That would be enough in itself but there are so many connections between us: Both our mothers had the butterfly as a symbol, both of us have / had partners with cancer and we both have a wicked sense of humor. I've already produced 3,000 plus words of content for her and I can add a bit of humor, create lush language and give her a Google proof piece. All the while I get brain candy that keeps my writing skills honed.

This has been a pretty good week.

Molasses is slower (thick and sticky), seasoned, and has a slight bitter taste. And it's better for you. That is my take on it. ;)
