You're not that early, Mother's Day in Hungary is the first Sunday in May. :)

But yes, happy Mother's Day to all. Don't think we have too many regulars who are, but hey I guess we all have one ourselves.

Among members and recent members, I count 10 mothers. I'll also note that nearly every member of the board is related to a mother. :P

Thanks all. I get to start celebrating early because today I get breakfast with my kids at each of their schools. One down, one to go. I'm not sure what's in store for me on Sunday but as long as I'm with the family that's all that matters.

I'll be laying under a mother's car. Probably by myself.

Heard yesterday from my sister that it is indeed an early Mother's Day for her, and she's having a baby! 12 weeks along, and we hear in a few days if it's a boy or a girl.

And I know some of you would disagree with my saying it, but nothing quite like your sister having a baby to make you think you're getting old! :?

Also, to complicate matters, baby is due November 22. Smack dab around when I was planning my PhD defense. Well, so guess if my submission date slips I will have a December defense date, because overall one of us is more flexible than the other and while I know my mom wouldn't want to miss either my defense or being around for the birth of her first grandchild, I know which one would win. :P

Congratulations to your sister! If you want you can always use this to guilt your mother and your sister that your mother always liked her best. :P

wonderful news, rommie! all the best to the parents-, grandparents-, cool aunt- ... to-be!

pumpkin, those children get more beautiful every time I see a picture of them. may you have many, many happy, healthy years together. (and who doesn't like monsters?)

ikyoto and loresinger, thank you for what I am sure were expressions of regard but are you aware that bubbe means 'grandmother'? if so, I must point out to you that I am not nearly old enough to qualify.

I woulda thought we aged you enough by now. I'll work on it.

Hah, funny thing, my brother and I are already in debate on who's going to be the more cool/fun aunt or uncle. My dad of course was trying to be all diplomatic with "you can be the best uncle, and you can be the best aunt!" but we both responded with a deadpan rejection of that. ;)

Congratulations! Being an aunt is the BEST! In a completely different and amazing way than being a mother. One cannot compare with the other. I've heard it said this way....every time a new loved one comes into your life, your love isn't divided, it's multiplied.
