Sixty Percent of White Voters voted for Republican Candidates

Why the Republican Message Resonated with Voters - It's The Economy Stupid- And it's Obama's Fault

One of the things I have been saying for a while now is that the economy is NOT recovering for enough people. And they are afraid and angry. And the democrats really lost their chance to convince the electorate that they had the answers.

Yeah, it's almost as close to a classic false recovery as there's been in awhile. Particularly if you look at the stock market going up.

Made a faux pas yesterday when talking to my parents btw as I mentioned to my mom how I hope now that they're in charge the Republicans will actually do stuff instead of just block everything like they have in recent years and be negative. Silly me, did you guys know it was all the Democrats's fault that nothing happened as they'd just kill all bills that made it to the Senate? :P
Yes, I have a life. It's quite different from yours.

If we're to believe "Pinko Commie" Keynesians like Paul Krugman, the 'pubs did everything they could to disrupt the recovery of the US economy. A "narrative" (god I hate that word, but I can't think of a better one) I've seen in most "Lamestream Liberal Sites" is that the 'pubs were doing it out of spite. Some have implied that it was political calculus though.

Either way, If it's true (and for better or worse, despite his "liberal bias" I tend to trust Krugman as an economist) I still think it's going to bite the 'pubs in the ass in the midterm.

The Republicans are going to have to do something called governing. POTUS was conciliatory in his speech after the election, Boehner was militant, and McConnell sounded like he was willing to try and work something out, but not jump too far from Cruz’s leash. It’s going to be a rough two years....
