Fuses

Fuses

Yeah, we're going back to the simple stuff...

Was checking for a blown fuse in a piece of mobile gear, and went and dropped the
darn thing under the seat and it's hiding from me.

It's a small power supply and FM transmitter to run a CD player (that does MP3's on disc)
thru my car stereo. The transmitter has a 25 foot range on a good day (which means output
power in the microwatt range) -- kinda neat tooling down the road listening to a BBC production of
"Journey to the Center of the Earth").

Anyway -- I'm guessing that the fuse capacity can't be over one amp (the CD player runs on two AA's
by itself, so we're talking minimal draw here). BUT -- standard 1/4" x 1 1/4" automotive cartridge
(glass body) fuses don't fit. I took a set of calipers to the fuse holder, and the hole to drop the fuse thru
comes to 5.6 mm. So I'm guessing that this thing takes 5 x 20 mm size fuses.
Commentary on my guess?

If so, will have to get 'em on eBay -- the local auto parts stores/Radio Shaft don't seem to have any.

Seems like a good guess. Hey, what could happen?
