A Toast to Russ

That darned Facebook just reminded me that today is the day of Russ's birth.

I'll have a drink in your honor tonight.

:(

I miss Russ. It's been what, 4 years now? Damn. I remember my first article in Astronomy appeared just before he died but after his last post on FWIS, so I never heard if he saw it or not. It was a light piece, but still, it was the first.
Yes, I have a life. It's quite different from yours.

Got to work with him at ScopeOut in Cincinnati, doing after-dark show'n'tells for
the public...even worked ourselves up a schtick...we billed ourselves as The Binocular Brothers...

And the year he showed up at Apollo Rendezvous with those elk steaks...

Yeah, I miss him too...

Damn, just read this thread. Now both the binocular brothers are gone. :(

A toast to you both. May you both find the peace you need.
Thanks for all the fish.

CiD posted this along with 3-4 other posts on March 17. He posted one more time 5 days later looking for some Chili Verde.
And that was it.

Well as long as i'm nostalgic, and mourning a bit, I should hit this thread too. Like Russ, Charlie had a serious wide range of interests. Both had hearts of pure gold. Rather than single malt, a toast to Charlie should probably involve Diet Pepsi. Miss you too, Brother. Glad to have known you.

Agreed! I do miss Charlie as well.
