Lucille has gone silent

Postby Thumper » Fri May 15, 2015 11:29 am

B.B. King has passed away.
I was lucky enough to see him a couple of times. Once in a large club, and once in a huge outdoor amphitheater. Both great shows. The selfless, gracious, and grateful King always showcased the other members of his band. It was almost like he was so happy to have gotten the chance to play his music for the people, that it was his duty to help other young musicians along and give them their chance.

He was 89. He was still playing over 200 shows a year well into his 70's.

I'm sorry Squid. But I do agree with you. Some great shows honoring him over the weekend. Good interviews, great tributes.

One of the "Three Kings" of Blues. He'll be missed. RIP.
