No more expansion of federal surveillance powers. No more secret no-fly lists. No more cryptographic backdoors into everything, no more wiretapping without warrants, no more carte blanch privileges for intelligence agencies. And, for God's sake, no more torture behind the public's back.

Please. No more of this. Please.

To Ms. Clinton:

I am going to vote for you, because I have no other remotely sensible choice. I even like a lot of your stances! But this is rubbish. Please don't abuse my and others' captive-voter status; least of all to further increase an already vast power imbalance between the federal government and the public at large. Let's try to make the US a nicer place to live, instead of battening down for endless war, okay?
