RIP Curtis Hanson

Noticed a small piece in yesterday's paper, mentioning he had passed away, at age 71, apparently of a heart attack. L.A. Confidential is one of my favourite movies. He directed it and along with Brian Helgeland adapted the screenplay from James Ellroy's novel. They did a masterful job, editing material and putting in some of their own twists, to tie elements of the film together. They won an Oscar for writing the screenplay. Other films he directed include: The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, Wonder Boys, In Her Shoes, The River Wild.

Clearly, a very competent director. I enjoyed most of those movies.
