New great movie about Rush, specifically counting down to the last show on the final Rush tour. Some great interviews. Sound and video was a little sub par. It seemed like the producers may have grabbed a bunch of amateur film (sorry iPhone video) to augment their picture. It was in theatres for one night only last Thursday. Available soon on DVD/BluRay in a variety of commemorative packages. There were two shorts before the main feature that were quite good that I hope come with the package.
It did show Rush fans as the total geeks and nerds that we are. I guess showing a normal Rush fan (whatever that is) wouldn't have had a good enough effect or made for good cinema. But it was a little over the top. Even if you don't like the band I recommend this as to why they matter and why there's a certain group of us that love them. A very similar sentiment to the wonderful documentary, "Beyond the Lighted Stage."
Two thumbs up. Through no influence of my own, we listened to the better part of the Rush catalog on our way to and from Baltimore at the hands of the other two Rush fans in the car.
