Lost in Space

Sucks. Which is unusual for Netflix.

This is not anything like the original TV series. Not only is the situation they're in different, the characters are radically changed, and not for the better. Everyone has drama issues and it distracts from the story. I'd say fully three quarters of the show revolves around one or more of the chararcter's issues. And they're all stupid. The only cool thing after five episodes is the robot.

Unfortunately, that seems to happen to a lot of shows. I guess if you don't have a big budget for cool special effects the default is to make everyone a drama lama with issues.

Everything is a damned reality show these days :P

The only characters I ever liked from the original show were Dr. Smith and the Robot. The rest were simply insipid (even Dr. Robinson, Guy Williams definitely only liked playing Zorro :P )

I actually liked the movie reboot they did in 1998. As for the original there was a lot to like. But, I agree that the main characters were Dr. Smith and the Robot.

I loved the show as a kid. The shine wore off of it later when I found out that they completely stole and ripped off all of Gene Roddenberry's ideas to create the show.
