We need to talk about Wordle (spoiler for today)

So Wordle, huh? I think it's made to be deceptively simple. I'm not any genius at word games by any means, but I got the last two words very quickly. My strategy is to guess with the first word five letter word I hear or see. Yesterday I was reading a post about wordle, so I used guess. g,u,s were in the word, and u was in the right place. So it took me just a bit of time to get sugar.

Today, I was brushing my teeth, so I used
scope
Next I guessed
crazy

Mouse over for the answer, it took me about 15 seconds to get it.
whack

scope to that in two tries? I'm not trying to brag, just point out that they don't make it very hard.

It's interesting that I have no idea what you are talking about, yet I read and understood some of the chemistry explanation on the info sheet about the covid PCR test while I was waiting for my results yesterday.

True story: Wordle is basically a very popular Dutch TV show called Lingo, which has been on for many years. Before we met, my now-husband and mother in law got onto Lingo, which MiL spent a ton of time prepping for, now-husband was more chill about- anyway, you alternate between turns as a team in Lingo.

So, this is the story about how F managed to spell "penis" on Dutch national television. "Because it fit the clues!!!" I have never seen the clip, but have heard about it many times, but I hear it has a great eye roll from MiL.

The man I married, everyone!

In honor of this, PENIS will now be my first guess every time!

I can't believe you haven't seen the clip. Is it just not available, or would some internet sleuthing pull it up? I'm sure some FWISers would be up to the task.

Apparently there is a VHS tape somewhere (this was that long ago), but everyone is emphatic that it'd be really hard to find. I suspect the reason is my husband is embarrassed by his long hair in his youth, and MIL is still just embarrassed that her son would do such a thing and is half convinced it's grounds for divorce.

Apparently, she is not aware of the American tradition of taking pictures of small children in embarrassing situations and sharing them with future son/daughter in laws.

Oh to be clear he was no child. He was definitely in his 20s when all this went down. :P

There is a "hard mode" and an "easy mode" and I found myself in the middle of a bitter exchange on facebook over which was which!
